In the Still of the Night

3 AM View from My Bedroom Window
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 KJV
It’s 3:00 AM. Thankfully, I glanced out my bedroom window before turning on the light. Deer are having a picnic under my huge oak tree. I froze in place, and they quickly went back to their feast.
I am supposed to be packed and ready to leave for Texas in three hours. However, there are priorities. For me, watching God’s critters is one.
God gifted a friend and me a week-long senior adult retreat on the Gulf. We trust Him for lodging and gas for the twelve-hour trip as we enjoy this much-needed break.
Perhaps I oversimplify a few things; maybe not. I see this peaceful setting as God’s reminder to me that He has my back. This past month has been hectic, to say the least. I have family needing housing asap, work, answers to major health issues, and more. And yet, God has given peace in the midst of my storm, in the stillness of the night!
How are things in your world, precious friend? Can you confidently lay all your burdens down and enjoy the stillness of the night? Will you? Will you trust Him?
Several of you have written me about answered prayer; others with prayer needs. I listen. I pray for each one; I even stick some on my refrigerator to nudge me to pray more diligently. I praise Him for each of you.
Thank you for hanging in there with me. Some great things are coming soon…be watching.
Thank you for dropping a note.
Hugs,
Susie
